NYDYU

The document outlines the NYDYU project, which develops sustainable housing solutions using recycled materials to address the global refugee crisis and the shortage of affordable housing. It highlights that by 2030, an estimated three billion people will require additional housing.

NYDYU produces modular buildings that can be quickly assembled and disassembled. These buildings are made from a composite material derived from recycled polystyrene (such as hamburger clamshells and coffee cups). This material is strong, lightweight, and cost-effective.

The concept targets humanitarian aid, educational facilities, healthcare centers, and emergency shelters. The buildings are fire-resistant, sound and thermal insulated, and are designed for rapid deployment in crisis situations. They can be assembled in just five hours by four people and can be expanded from 35 m² to 93 m². Moreover, they are environmentally friendly, maintenance-free, and energy-efficient.

NYDYU emphasizes the importance of taking responsibility for providing housing and offering sustainable, high-quality solutions for housing construction.
